We always hear that we need to be drinking more water. Women are supposed to drink approximately 2 liters of total beverages a day and need to drink more to account for activity and the temperature of the environment. As it is already reaching the 90s here in the southwest, I find that I am needing to drink more and more water. Water can be boring though, and I’ve found that infusing adds a little flavor without chemicals and added sugar.

Adding cucumber and lime to water is really nothing new, but one day I decided to throw in a little bit of fresh jalapeño and it was awesome! The jalapeño adds a little kick to the water. It does not make it spicy or burn the tongue, but it gives off just a little heat to make it interesting.
- Half a jalapeño, seeded and sliced
- Six or seven thinly sliced cucumber
- One tablespoon fresh lime juice
- Filtered water
Through out the day I just add ice and water and a little more lime juice to my cup. I definitely got in my 2 liters of water and then some yesterday. I love drinking out of my wide mouth mason jar. You can get mason jar lids here. What is your favorite way to flavor water?

Ooh I would never think to add jalapeno! Great idea, thanks!
Well, I’ve actually posted a recipe for cucumber jalapeno margaritas (http://gingerwroot.com/cucumber-jalapeno-margaritas/) but it had not occurred to me to try the same flavor profile with just water! Thanks!
