I’m really happy that it’s springtime, which means flowers and pretty colors everywhere! Potted flowers and plants are one of my favorite gifts to give and receive. And since it’s spring and there are a ton of celebrations coming up… Easter, Mother’s Day, etc… a cute flower pot filled with flowers makes a perfect hostess or Mother’s Day gift!

This longest part of this project is waiting for the paint to dry. It’s quick and nearly foolproof.

THIS POST CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS, MEANING IF YOU CLICK ON A LINK AND BUY SOMETHING I MAY RECEIVE A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THE SALE AT NO COST TO YOU.

Supplies~

  • terracotta flower pot
  • white spray paint
  • DecoArt Americana acrylic paint in Watermelon Slice
  • DecoArt Americana acrylic paint in Turquoise Blue
  • DecoArt Americana acrylic paint in Luminous Gold
  • Pencil with eraser

Take you planter and the base outside and spray paint the whole thing white. A couple of thin coats will do. Just let the paint dry in between. It took all of two minutes to dry in Arizona’s 90+ degree March heat. It might take yours longer to dry.

Now just grab a bottle of paint and the pencil. There’s no need to pour out paint, I just used the paint on the inside of the cap. Dip in the eraser and stamp the paint-loaded eraser randomly on your pot. I started with my favorite color, Watermelon Slice, which I used on these Wooden Tulips last week.

Once you have the first color on, wipe the paint off your eraser and make random dots with the second color. Continue with other colors until you are done.

Once dry, add some bright potted flowers and give to your favorite lady!

Do you seal the inside of the pot to protect the outside paint? If not, when the clay pot absorbs water, wouldn’t it affect the paint
