This guacamole just got a burst of flavor! Guacamole with finger limes adds little pops of lime to every bite. It’s fun and delicious!
Have you ever heard of finger limes? I hadn’t until my friends at Melissa’s Produce graciously sent me some. Finger limes are little, about the size of, you guessed it, a finger. They are native to Australia, but have been starting to pop up in the US. So what is so fun about a finger lime you ask?

They are often called the ‘caviar of the citrus world’ because instead of the lime juice being in long tear drop shaped vesicles like standard limes, the finger lime’s juice is contained in little balls. All you need to do is cut the finger lime in half and squeeze it like you would a tube of toothpaste and all these fun little balls of lime juice pop out! Although they are often compared to caviar, finger limes are much more exciting than caviar is. I like to think of them more like Pop Rocks, because you get that surprising flavor burst with every bite.
Guacamole is a perfect recipe for finger limes. The smooth richness of the avocado, with a little garlic salt, a dash of hot sauce, a squeeze of traditional lime juice with the pops of finger limes is almost too much enjoyment for your taste buds! Seriously!

These sesame seed blue corn tortilla chips added just the right amount of crunch to the guacamole! I do love guac with vegetables as well. Never underestimate cauliflower or radish slices dipped in guac.
Do you need a chip and dip server? This one is beautiful!
Have you tried finger limes? I feel like they would be great on fish tacos as well!
