Make a fun headband for Halloween with felt candy corn!

Having a house full of girls means that we use a lot of hair accessories. The kids like them because it’s a fun way of being festive, but not over the top. For Halloween this year, we made felt candy corns and attached them to stretchy headbands and they turned out so cute!

Not spooky enough for you? Well the check out this Creepy Spider Web Headband tutorial!

Using a die cut machine, candy corn dies, felt and fabric glue, the candy corns came together really quickly.

Here is how to make a Candy Corn Headband.

Supplies~

  • die cutting machine ( I use the Spellbinders full size Platinum)
  • Candy Corn dies
  • black, yellow, orange and white felt (the better quality felts result in cleaner cuts per my experience)
  • fabric glue
  • black wrap around headbands

Instructions~

Wash the headband to remove any sizing. Make six candy corns, three large and three small. Make the background black, the bottom stripe orange, the middle yellow and the top white. Glue the pieces on using fabric glue.

The glue will seep through the felt so don’t be surprised. Using the glue, attach the felt candy corn on to the headband. Use a damp washcloth to wipe up any glue that seeps on to the headband around the candy corn. (Glue drives me nuts sometimes!) Slip the headband between some waxed paper and stick in a heavy book to dry overnight.
