This springtime flower pouch combined three of of my favorite ways to craft, heat transfer vinyl, fabric painting and Spellbinders dies. The entire project took less than 30 minutes. What took the longest was deciding which colors to paint the flowers.

Supplies:
- Spellbinders die-cutting machine (I have the full size Platinum, but any will work with this project)
- Die D-Lites Bottles Etched Dies
- Die D-Lites Sketched Blooms Etched Dies
- Black Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Silver Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Dye-na-flow fabric paint (I used Chartreuse, Magenta, Periwinkle, Scarlet and Sun Yellow)
- Paint brush
- Canvas pouch
- Iron
Use the bottle dies to cut out the silver glitter heat transfer vinyl and the sketched blooms dies to cut out the black heat transfer vinyl. Place the black flowers where you want them and cover with a thin piece of fabric (I use a flour sack towel.)
Iron on the highest dry heat setting with as much pressure as you can muster. Peel off the clear transfer tape and then iron the bottles on using the same method. I always turn the pouch inside out and iron again to make sure the vinyl is transferred.
Place a washcloth or something inside the pouch to protect it from the Dye-na-flow from seeping to the other side. Carefully paint the flowers. I started with the inside and slowly moved the brush as the dye moved through the canvas. I wanted the color to go outside the black lines, but if you don’t, use less paint and move the brush quicker. You can also wet the canvas before painting for a more watercolor look.
Let the the paint dry, then iron on high to heat set. After week you can wash the fabric and iron it again to make sure the color is set.
Isn’t this Springtime Floral Pouch craft so fun? I wanted to use it to store some of my lettering pens, but my middle daughter claimed it as her own. Guess I’ll have to make another!
