I’ve been thinking a lot lately about lighting. Basically because my home doesn’t have enough. Maria Killam, over at Colour Me Happy, says that to have good atmosphere in a room you need to have light coming from the four corners of a room. As I look around my living room, with no overhead lighting, I see that I have two table lamps. I definitely need two more sources of light, and probably not another table lamp. So as I browsed the internet for lighting idea, I collected images of gorgeous lamps. Here are some of the amazing ones that I found…and not just for the living room.
The lovely Jug Table Lamp from Cisco Brothers. The clarity of the base is almost ethereal. As are these Jug Pendant lamps below, also from Cisco Brothers.
The Aurora Table Lamp, above, from Room and Board, would look great in a modern or contemporary home office.
The Arco Floor Lamp, by the Castiglioni brothers, is iconic. Originally designed in 1962, it’s made of steel with a marble base. It has an 8 foot reach, but is freestanding. It retails at DWR for a mere $2700. I want it.
The Twine Floor Lamp from CB2, has a simple enough design that you could switch out the lamp shade to something with more character.
The Owl Table Lamp from West Elm would add a delightful touch of whimsy to a living room or a bedroom.
Also from West Elm, the Branches Floor Lamp will add some eco chic to any room.
See any lamps you like? There are so many great ones out there right now that this post could go on forever. What’s your favorite style? Do you like the classic or iconic? How about whimsical like the owl or nature inspired like the branches?
