We’ve officially hit the lazy days of summer..well at least I have. I can distinctly remember it year after year as a kid. The beginning of summer break is exciting..think all the potential summer holds! Then you have Independence Day to look forward to..picnics, parties and fireworks! But after Independence Day there was this long stretch until school started back up, for me it was the day after Labor Day. That long stretch was when boredom and restlessness kicked in. Chores seemed to take forever. All the cool tv shows were reruns since the new seasons didn’t start up again until the fall. And it got hot. Too hot to enjoy playing outside.
So the past few days I’ve been trying to avoid that boredom and embracing the laziness. The weather has been nice, so I’ve been outside working on my tan. Hosing off the Sparkletots if they dare try to get me with their squirty toys. And not too much blogging. Blog? What blog? Oh yeah..
But then that creative rash started to itch again. I keep thinking about projects for fall and dare I say it.. Christmas. I went to the craft store and they were setting up their autumn products. Lots of jewel tones. And West Elm just released their fall line of home decor. *love* So it looks like I’m not alone in my thinking. I figure I can make the projects now, and wrap them up and put a tag on it that says “Do Not Open Until September 1st.”
I’m not ready to give up on summer though. I need ideas. What does late summer represent? I’m trying to figure that out.
Stay tuned though, I have a cool project for you later today.
Until then..go to Creature Comforts and download the popsicle wallpaper for your computer. It screams summer!
