Celebrate summer with this tasty Strawberry Shortcake Frappé made with International Delight® Cold Stone Creamery™ Sweet Cream and Reddi-wip®!
It’s been so hot this summer and trying to find ways to cool down has been a struggle. I’ve been surprising with girls with water balloon fights. You never know when a giant bucket of water balloons is going to appear at the front door. Of course everyone has a blast throwing the water balloons at each other and getting all wet!
Of course water balloons make a huge mess that needs to be picked up, and I can honestly tell you that that is the last thing I want to be doing and the same goes for the girls. So I found the perfect way to incentivize this clean-up…”you ladies pick up the balloon mess and while you do that, I will make you Strawberry Shortcake Frappés!” WIN-WIN!!
The Strawberry Shortcake Frappés take just minutes to make and taste amazing thanks to International Delight® Cold Stone Creamery™ Sweet Cream! Yup, it’s for more than just flavoring up your morning coffee. It is sweet and creamy and makes perfect frappés. Plus the frappés are topped with Reddi-wip® which is fantastic because Redd-wip has no artificial flavors or sweeteners or hydrogenated oils and it’s made from cows that aren’t treated with artificial growth hormone. I love that it’s made with real cream!
All you need for these tasty frappés are some fresh strawberries, ice, some shortcake (here is my go-to recipe) or angel food cake, some International Delight® Cold Stone Creamery™ Sweet Cream and some Reddi-wip® for the topping! Of course you can get all these at Walmart. I found the International Delight and the Reddi-wip in the refrigerated section.
Throw the ice, strawberries and creamer into the blender and blend until the ice is crushed. Crumble up some of the cake and stir it in. The chunks of cake in the frappe is my favorite part!
Pour into glasses and top with Reddi-wip! I love to garnish my frappés with skewers of more shortcake and strawberries! This is the ultimate dessert frappé!
- 2 cups ice
- 1 and 1/2 cups International Delight® Cold Stone Creamery™ Sweet Cream
- 1 cup strawberries, washed and stems removed
- 1 shortcake or slice angelfood cake
- Blend ice, strawberries and International Delight® Cold Stone Creamery™ Sweet Cream together in blender.
- Crumble some shortcake and stir in.
- Pour into cups and top with a dollop of Reddi-wip!
- Serve immediately.
I foresee many more water balloon activities for us in the near future and more sweet frappés as well! The International Delight® Hershey’s® Chocolate Caramel is an amazing flavor and I can’t wait to create a yummy, chocolaty treat with it. You should pick up that flavor when you are at Walmart too!
