Yikes! I can’t believe I haven’t posted in two weeks. There’s been way too much going on and I’ve been spending more time than I’d like at work. I wish I could say things were going to slow down for the holidays, but I don’t see much of that happening.
I put up the vintage aluminum christmas tree that I love oh so much. We are still going to get a real tree, but we didn’t want to get it too early and risk it drying out and becoming a fire hazard in this arid climate. This aluminum one goes well with the mid-mod design of the house.
Notice the little Elf on the Shelf sitting above the tree.. The Sparkletots named him Christmas Wally. He was given to us a couple weeks ago by one of their grandparents, and he watches to see who’s naughty and who’s nice and then reports his findings back to Santa. It’s basically an ingenius way of manipulating your kids to be good. Example: Don’t hit your sister..the elf is watching and you don’t want to be on Santa’s naughty list.. (instant apology and hugs all around). Yeah, I’m that kind of mom.
The lights and the paper chain are my favorite holiday decor. I love these windows. I still want to hang some snowflakes and make it all crazy like in the movie Elf.
Isn’t that wonderful! I love it when it looks like Christmas threw up all over.
My granddaughter had an elf this year. She named him Elfus. I was so sad to see him go. Even though he wasn’t at my house, all I had to do was tell her I was going to have a talk with Elfus and she fell right in line. Boy, I’m missing that elf : )
I am so going to try your tomato soup. I’m so curious about the tomato/orange combination. Interesting…
