Creepy Spider Web Headband

Create a spider web headband to wear when you’re out creeping this Halloween!

If you have kids or are a kid at heart, then you are well aware that Halloween is right around the corner. My girls have been planning their Halloween costumes (yes more than one) since before Halloween last year. The kids aren’t allowed to dress up in costume during the school day, but they love wearing a Halloween shirt or accessory. This creepy spider web headband is a fun and festive Halloween accessory. Plus, it’s an easy DIY!

Some of the supplies in this post were provided by Oriental Trading. Check out their Halloween Headquarters! They have so much creepy, spooky and cute Halloween costumes and decor!

Supplies~

  • spiders
  • stretchy white spider web
  • black satin headband
  • black sparkly tulle 6 inch
  • black ribbon or piece of felt
  • hot glue gun and hot glue sticks

Directions~

Cut out five, 8 inch lengths of tulle. Lay them on top of one another and tie them together, making a knot in the middle. Then, fan out the tulle like a bow.

The headband from Oriental Trading has this little piece of ribbon on it, where you can attach a clip or tie something on. It’s actually really convenient and when I make headbands, I tend to place my attachments more on top and it looks ridiculous, so this little piece of ribbon is a great reminder!

So use your spare piece of ribbon or felt and tie or glue on the tulle. I slipped the felt under the ribbon on the headband, then added a dab of hot glue to secure it in and then tied it around the tulle, to make it extra secure.

Fluff up the tulle, then grab a little piece of the stretchy spider web. A little of this stuff goes a long way, so just a pinch will work. I used just a drop of hot glue to anchor the webbing in the middle of the tulle bow, then stretched out the webbing all over. The web sticks to the tulle well, but you can add in a little glue if you need to.

Lastly, glue on the plastic spiders. Being careful not to burn your fingers, glue the spiders on to the web covered tulle. I made it so that one spider hangs down on the web off of the bow!

If you are a fancy type, then it would be adorable to add some shiny rhinestones onto the spider web headband. Spiders can be classy too!
