DIY Floral Champagne Flutes

Tis the season for mimosas and other sparkly drinks! Drink them in style when you make these DIY Floral Champagne Flutes.

April showers bring May flowers, right? Since it’s the season for flowers I decided to add some pretty transparent glitter vinyl flowers to these basic champagne flutes. They are perfect for Mother’s Day or really any spring and summer brunch. Trust me, mimosas taste better in these darling floral champagne flutes!

Supplies:

  • Champagne Flutes
  • Ultra Metallic Vinyl – White
  • Transparent Glitter Vinyl Magenta
  • Transparent Glitter Vinyl Yellow
  • Transparent Glitter Vinyl Apple Green
  • Transparent Glitter Vinyl Pink
  • Transparent Glitter Vinyl Tangerine
  • Transparent Glitter Vinyl Orange
  • Transparent Glitter Vinyl Lime
  • Clear Grid Transfer Tape
  • Vinyl Tool Kit
  • Silhouette Cameo 4

For the floral designs, I wanted outlines and the transparent glitter vinyl on the inside of the outlines. I found the designs by Nic Squirrell in the Silhouette Design Store that I really liked.

Using the software that came with the Silhouette, I cut out the design in each of the colors that I wanted to use. For the Ultra Metallic White vinyl, I used the outline and weeded the rest. Then for the specific colors of the transparent glitter vinyl, I weeded out what ever parts I didn’t want.

Once I had each color properly weeded, I used the clear grid transfer paper to layer them, starting with the white outline. I found it easiest to do just a little bit at a time, so that the transparent glitter pieces line up within the white outline.

After the design was on the transfer tape, I applied it to the flute that I had cleaned with rubbing alcohol. I carefully placed and transferred the design on the flute, then rubbed it to assure it adhered fully. Then removed the transfer tape.

The adhesive vinyl is permanent, but it is recommended that these glasses be hand washed.
